Bruised by constant overstimulation, Asteris (Callan Thomas, Mallorey Wallace) pride themselves in finding inspiration in the intimacy and rawness of their natural surroundings. For their first collection of work, they occupied the feelings of transformation, nostalgia, love, death, and coming-of-age into four songs – each radiating its own color and moment in time.
By further exploring the dimensions of this collection, Callan – often behind the instrumentals rather than the lyrics - distinctly visualized these chapters into one collective audio/visual experience. He constructed moments of rest during the transitions - consistently testing his vulnerability while quietly reflecting on the tangled facades of his identity, stability, and connections. Within this textural space of both musicality and imagery, he intensely challenged his ability to feel by constructing the narrative of When The Winter Has Won.
